Yowza Biscayne
Slimmest Folding Design On The Market
If you’re looking for a solid, high powered treadmill that can really save you some space then the Yowza Biscayne may be for you. You do end up paying for that beautiful slim design however. The Keewadin, another Yowza model, has all the same features plus the patented “swing arm” absorption system that is one of the most comfortable on the market. So unless you really like the idea of saving a lot of space then we recommend the Keewadin. Sometimes the Yowza sells the Biscayne for around $400 more than the Keewadin and at other times the difference is only $150. The Skinny
If you’re in the market for a solid folding treadmill and you like the look of the Yowza line then you’re probably gonna be faced with deciding between the slim folding design of the Biscayne versus the Keewadin, that has the “swing arm” absorption system. Just to be clear the floating deck of the Biscayne provides a very smooth run as well….just not AS smooth.
Let’s dig a little deeper:
Slimmest folding design on the market: The Biscayne is pretty slick when folded in it’s near vertical upright position. At 23.8″, it is the slimmest folding treadmill in the world according to Yowza. Considering the Biscayne is a full featured and decently powered machine this is no small feat. The question is…is the slim design worth the extra money to you?
Heavy, sturdy design: Don’t let it’s slim profile fool you. The Biscayne is still a bit of a beast at 254 lbs so be wary of that. In home delivery might be a good idea. It’s heavy frame does lead to a very stable workout, especially for a folding treadmill.
iPod Dock: Convenient docking station for your iPod as opposed to a simple jack.
The Bottom Line
As we’ve already discussed the Biscayne is a solid treadmill that is powerful enough (3.0 HP motor) and large enough (20″ x 60″ running belt) for most runners. If you like the look of the Yowza line (as we do) then the question becomes: Does the slim folding profile of the Biscayne trump the softer absorption of the Keewadin? The price difference between the two sometimes fluctuates so be sure to click the “More Details” button to find out for sure. (We are always updating the site but sometimes the manufacturers throw last minute sales!)
Generally we like to recommend the Keewadin over the Biscayne. It’s cheaper, has a higher top speed (11 mph), comes with a Polar chest strap heart rate monitor and has the great “swing arm” absorption system. But to be fair the Biscayne is no slouch either.
